Cha Eun-woo and Moon Sua Celebrate Late Moonbin’s Birthday with a Song & Heartfelt words

On January 26, the birthday of the late ASTRO member Moonbin, his younger sister, Billlie’s Moon Sua, posted a photo of herself standing side by side and smiling brightly with Moonbin on Instagram.
She also added the caption, “Happy birthday, my one and only brother”, showing fond feelings for her late brother.
Fans who saw the photo expressed their longing by leaving comments such as, “Happy birthday, Bin-ah (endearment nickname to refer to Moonbin),” “Moon siblings,” “I’ll keep you in my heart,” “I miss you,” and “Rest in peace.”

Meanwhile, fellow ASTRO member Cha Eun-woo published several photos on his Instagram account along with the caption, “Happy birthday. I miss you”.

Among the photos is one showing a cake made of Choco Pies and snapshots from past birthday celebrations with Moonbin, reminiscing about their memories together.
Together with the Instagram update, Cha Eunwoo posted a video on his YouTube channel, where he played the piano and sang, expressing his longing for Moonbin.

He also added a long message with the song, saying, “Happy birthday, Binnie. How have you been? I’ve been missing you a lot lately. There’s so much I want to talk about over a drink, but you’re not here for me to lean on. I’m sorry I couldn’t visit you as often as last year. Every time I think of you, I hold it in and keep working hard—that’s what you wanted, right? But now, it’s starting to feel a little overwhelming. I don’t know… Am I doing okay? Your absence feels especially heavy, my friend. I just miss you. I love you. Happy Moonbin Day.”

The song Cha Eunwoo performed was Shin Seung-hun’s ballad “After a Long Time”, which contains poignant lyrics such as “You were so precious to me, and because you’re no longer by my side, I cried along with the rain.”
After finishing the song, Cha Eunwoo, with tears welling in his eyes, forced a small smile and said, “Happy Moonbin Day.”
Fans and viewers were deeply moved, leaving supportive comments such as:
- I hope Eunwoo finds happiness. I wish he wouldn’t push himself so hard and would take time to care for and love himself more.
- Binnie would smile and feel happy hearing this. Stay healthy, and let’s continue seeing each other for a long time.
- I pray for happy days to come for Eunwoo. Thank you for enduring so much.
- Leaving a song for Moonbin is such a heartfelt and beautiful gesture.
- I hope he doesn’t blame himself or feel guilty. Thank you for holding on.
- It must have taken so much sorrow and tears to express this pain. May Eunwoo’s year be filled only with happiness and good fortune.
- May those who carry the pain of loss find peace. May the world be kinder to them. I hope a beautiful world opens up for you, who is overcoming this sadness.
Meanwhile, previously in May of last year, Cha Eun-woo appeared on tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” and shared his deep feelings of grief for Moonbin. During the show, Cha Eun-woo reflected on the past year, calling it the most challenging year of his life, and revealed how he wrote a song for Moonbin as well as his feeling of guilt.
On the other hand, Moonbin passed away on April 19, 2023, at the age of 25.
